“Why would you come to little Mulberry, that is peaceful and diverse? We like it that way, and why come to our town and stir up the pot of hate and division?” said the group’s organizer, Suzanne Carter-Moore.

Carter-Moore’s group is called “Not in Mulberry.” Its members created a Facebook Page called “Not in Mulberry Dr. Terry Jones.”

Dr. Jones has announced he will be burning 2,998 Korans on September 11 at a Mulberry property. The Koran is the Islamic religious book. He said he will burn one book for each life lost during the 9/11 attacks.

Dr. Jones said he has burned 3,000 Korans every September 11 since 2010.

The residents of Mulberry do not understand why Dr. Jones has chosen their town to raise awareness about Islam.

“We did not choose Mulberry, Mulberry chose us,” said Dr. Jones. “A supporter of mine, who lives in Mulberry, knew I needed a new spot to burn the books this year, because I sold my property in Gainesville where we had been burning the books the last couple years. He called me and offered his property for the burning to raise awareness.”

“I think people get confused,” said Dr. Terry Jones. “We by no means, and never in any of the protests we have ever done, demonstrated any type of hate. And we definitely do not hate Muslims. We respect their right here in America to be here, to practice their religion under the First Amendment. It’s not about Muslims, it is about that violent core message that Islam has.”

The “Not in Mulberry” group meets weekly at Toppers Pizza in Mulberry. On September 7, it will have a rally downtown at Highway 37 and Highway 60, with signs not supporting Dr. Terry Jones.

In May, Turkey Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan placed a ceremonial stone at the construction site. Now the five-building project known as the Turkish American Culture and Civilization Center is well underway in the town just outside Washington, D.C., with a population of about 10,000.

As the Clarion Project explains, mosques have been springing up all over the U.S. in recent years. As many as 80 percent of the mosques in America have been built in the last 12 years – since the 2001 terror attacks.

“A large majority of mosques in the United States are led by Wahhabi clerics,” the Project explains. “Wahhabism is an extreme brand of Islam practiced dominantly in Saudi Arabia. According to Muslim estimates, up to 80 percent of mosques in the U.S. are owned, operated and led by Wahhabis.

“These radical mosques often promote the installation of Sharia law, an extreme ideology that considers ‘non-believers’ to be infidels. According to Wahhabis, jihad or support of jihad is a Muslim duty. They believe that suicide bombers and martyrs are worthy of the highest praise and reward. And radicals are anticipating the day when an Islamic state will one day span the U.S.”

As many as four studies have independently concluded that 80 percent of U.S. mosques “were teaching jihad, Islamic supremacism, and hatred and contempt for Jews and Christians,” Robert Spencer of Jihad Watch has reported.

Spencer noted, “We are increasingly seeing Muslim patrols in the proximity of mosques saying to passers-by that they can’t walk a dog, wear a skirt, drink alcohol.”

But Dr. Yasar Colak, president of the Turkish American Community Center, told the World Bulletin his organization has special plans for the new mega-mosque, which will be designed in accordance with 16th century Ottoman architecture:

“We will show our friends in the U.S. who we actually are and the main principle of our civilization,” he said. “We will present our peaceful culture. We will try to erase the bad reputation of Muslims and Islam created following September 11 attacks.”

When a security guard confronted Mackey and told him to leave, the men said they weren’t interfering with DMV business and that they were protected by the First Amendment. They were then arrested by California High Officer Darrin Meyer, who cited them for “impeding an open business.”

“We believe that these men were exercising their First Amendment right of Free Speech,” said their attorney, Robert Tyler with Advocates for Faith & Freedom. “These men were simply sharing their faith on public property, and we will defend their constitutional right to do so.”

The men have filed a federal lawsuit, but that lawsuit has been delayed until after their pending criminal case. If convicted, the men face 90 days in jail or a $400 fine, or both.

Thundering Harley engines nearly drowned out the Latin recitation of the “Our Father” prayer that accompanied Francis as he greeted the crowd before Mass. Standing in his open-top jeep, Francis drove up the main boulevard leading to St. Peter’s Square, blessing the thousands of people in what was a giant Harley parking lot.

Once the service got under way, bikers in their trademark leather Harley vests sat in the square alongside nuns and tens of thousands of faithful Catholics taking part in an unrelated, two-day pro-life rally.

Francis addressed them both afterward, giving a blessing to the “numerous participants” of the Harley gathering.

Tens of thousands of Harley owners from around the world descended on Rome for the four-day anniversary of the American manufacturer.

The main events were Sunday’s Vatican blessing and a parade Saturday past the Colosseum and other historic landmarks — adding color, traffic and noise to an already colorful day in downtown Rome, thanks to a gay pride march.

Italian daily Corriere della Sera reported that six bikes were involved in a pileup Saturday on the main ring road around the capital, while a Swiss biking couple were killed in a highway crash on Wednesday.

It’s because America not only seems dedicated to funding its own enemies, but also those nations where Christians are persecuted and martyred, according to Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky.

“It is clear that American taxpayer dollars are being used in a war against Christianity,” Paul told an audience at the Faith and Freedom Coalition’s Road to Majority conference this week.

“It angers me to see my tax dollars supporting regimes that put Christians to death for blasphemy against Islam, countries that put to death Muslims who convert to Christianity, and countries who imprison anyone who marries outside their religion,” he said.

Paul, who is seen as a likely presidential candidate in 2016, also criticized his fellow senators for their spending priorities, highlighting arguments over a bill he sponsored earlier this year that would have cut off all aid to Pakistan, Egypt and Libya until they turned over those responsible for the murder of U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens.

CBS 2′s John Slattery spoke exclusively to the 92-year-old mugging victim from the hospital on Thursday.

The attack happened at around 11:30 p.m. Monday on West 18 Street.

“I was thinking it’s a nightmare,” victim Ricardo Velez told Slattery. “I hope it’s a nightmare. But it wasn’t. It was for real.”

Police said the suspect followed Velez into his apartment building where he has lived for the past 50 years, pushed him to the ground and robbed him.

“Then he push me with umbrella and I went to the floor. My hip…broke my hip,” Velez said.

The suspect took off with Velez’s bag, which contained his glasses and a Bible, 1010 WINS’ John Montone reported.

Velez’s upstairs neighbor, Radames Hernandez, told Slattery his dog heard the attack and barked. Hernandez opened his door and could hear Velez calling out

Master Sgt. Nathan Sommers, a decorated soloist with the Army Band, is being charged under a federal law that permits commanding officers to conduct non-judicial proceedings for minor offenses.

Sommers is accused of giving a superior officer the wrong date for a doctor’s appointment. He’s also accused of failing to carry out an order. In order to comply with that order, Sommers would have had to disclose private information about his autistic son’s medical records.

The charges were handed down one day after Sommers told Fox News that he was facing discrimination and persecution because of his conservative political and religious beliefs.

“The timing does seem strange,” retired Navy Commander John Bennett Wells told Fox News. “It’s suspicious. No matter what’s happening it looks like a graduated attempt to build a case against him on some really ridiculous charges.

The details come from Judicial Watch, which obtained documentation of the hundreds of pages of FBI memos, training documents and other paperwork that the agency purged on the demands of Muslims.

“The FBI is rewriting history in order to help al-Qaida,” said Judicial Watch president Tom Fitton. “This shows that the law enforcement agency is in need of serious top-to-bottom reform.”

Fitton said a lesson learned from the Boston Marathon terrorist attack is that the country is less safe when it allows radical Muslim organizations to tell the FBI how to train its agents and do its job.

“The FBI’s purge of so-called ‘offensive’ material is political correctness run amok, and it puts the nation at risk,” he said. “The Obama administration needs to stop putting the tender sensibilities of radical Islamists above the safety of the American people.”

The organization recently released hundreds of pages of documents from the FBI that demonstrate the effort to purge from anti-terrorism training materials and curriculum anything that a number of unidentified “subject matter experts” deemed “offensive” to Muslims.

For example, according to Judicial Watch, one expert insisted that a particular slide in a training program describing the Quran as the teachings of Muhammad be removed or changed.

The reason?

“The Quran is not the teachings of the prophet,” wrote the expert, “but the revealed word of God.”

George Washington University law professor Jonathan Turley adds that:

“The Kingdom is particularly concerned with how Twitter has been used to keep people informed of human rights activists who have been tried for the crime of free speech. Leaders on the Web have been detained while others have been charged with apostasy and other crimes for statements made on these sites.

“The more that repressive government seek to ban Twitter the more they remind us of the value of this resource as a force for freedom around the world.”

We are reliving the true history of how the Islamic world, much of which prior to the Islamic conquests was almost entirely Christian, came into being.

The U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom recently said: “The flight of Christians out of the region is unprecedented and it’s increasing year by year.” In our lifetime alone “Christians might disappear altogether from Iraq, Afghanistan, and Egypt.”

Ongoing reports from the Islamic world certainly support this conclusion: Iraq was the earliest indicator of the fate awaiting Christians once Islamic forces are liberated from the grip of dictators.

In 2003, Iraq’s Christian population was at least one million. Today fewer than 400,000 remain—the result of an anti-Christian campaign that began with the U.S. occupation of Iraq, when countless Christian churches were bombed and countless Christians killed, including by crucifixion and beheading.

Now, as the U.S. supports the jihad on Syria’s secular president Assad, the same pattern has come to Syria: entire regions and towns where Christians lived for centuries before Islam came into being have now been emptied, as the opposition targets Christians for kidnapping, plundering, and beheadings, all in compliance with mosque calls telling the populace that it’s a “sacred duty” to drive Christians away.
